Sweden will hand over six Combat Boat 90 combat boats to Ukraine
Boats for the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be transferred as part of the 17th package of sanctions in the amount of SEK 4.6 billion ($440 million).
Sweden announced the 17th package of military aid worth 440 million dollars. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Thus, the Scandinavian country handed Ukraine six combat boats Combat Boat 90, MANPADS Robot System 70, anti-tank mines and grenade launchers.
In total, in 2024, military aid from Sweden to Ukraine amounted to 25 billion Swedish kroner (2.41 billion dollars).
Background: The Combat Boat 90 is a military high-speed armored landing craft designed by the Swedish company Dockstavarvet. It is designed for rapid delivery of amphibious forces, strike operations, coast guard, as well as reconnaissance and mining of water areas.
The boat can accommodate 21 fully equipped fighters and up to 4.5 tons of cargo. The length is 14.9 meters, the displacement is 18-23 tons, the maximum width is 3.85 meters. The combat boat is equipped with two diesel engines with a capacity of 600 kW and two water jet engines, which allow you to perform sharp maneuvers and develop a speed of up to 45 km in shallow coastal waters.
The CB90 is armed with three turrets located behind the wheelhouse and one on each side. They can be equipped with a large-caliber 12.7-mm Browning M2HB machine gun or a 40-mm automatic grenade launcher. In addition, for strike or sabotage missions, the boat can be armed with RBS 17 SSM (Hellfire) light anti-ship missiles, as well as carry four 2.8-ton sea mines or six depth charges.
Recently, USM wrote that Great Britain will hand over 600 missiles to Ukraine to destroy Russian ships.
