Sybiha: About 70% of vessels transporting Russian oil pass through the Baltic Sea

EU countries have unused potential for sanctions against Russia’s “shadow fleet” in the Baltic Sea, which accounts for about 70% of the flow.
This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, Ukrinform reports.
“I would like to remind you that about 70% of the flow of the “shadow fleet” transporting Russian oil passes through the Baltic Sea. There is also a certain potential here, I believe, underutilized by our European partners, the states of the Baltic region,” he said.
The minister noted that Poland will chair the Council of the Baltic Sea States in the coming period and it is very important to pay attention to this.
Sybiga also called for imposing sanctions on specific individuals involved in the illegal convictions of Ukrainian servicemen and the abduction of children.Earlier, USM reported that EU states and partners are planning joint actions to counter sanctions circumvention schemes and strengthen control at sea.
