Syria has become a leader in accepting stolen Ukrainian grain

The Syrian ports of Tartus and Latakia continue to receive Russian vessels involved in the theft of grain from the Ukrainian TOT.

This was reported by Kateryna Yaresko, a journalist for the SeaKrime project of the Peacemaker Center.

The vessel Matros Pozynich (IMO:9573816) arrived in Latakia, although it previously indicated Iskenderun as the port of loading in AIS. The vessel carried 27.5 thousand tons of wheat from the occupied territories of Ukraine – Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

It is known that the vessel was loaded in occupied Sevastopol, at the Avlita grain terminal.

“Syria has become a leader in accepting stolen Ukrainian grain, ships with grain from occupied Crimean ports are constantly being unloaded in the ports of Tartus and Latakia,” Kateryna Yaresko emphasized.

The Defense Intelligence of the MoD War&Sanctions portal notes that on November 25, 2025, Ukraine imposed sanctions on the vessel Matros Pozynich. Also, from December 19, 2025, the EU imposed sanctions on the vessel. And from January 13, 2026, Switzerland imposed sanctions on the vessel.
