The limited supply and high prices for wheat from the Russian Federation alienate importers. Ukrainian wheat is becoming more affordable for them and, at the same time, a high-quality alternative.
Experts predict that the revenue from the export of wheat, barley, rapeseed and its processed products in the 2021/22 season can reach $31 billion.
By the end of 2021/22 MY, Ukraine can export more than 24.4 million tons of wheat.
Regarding the results of the 2020/2021 season, Ukraine has exported 1.08 million tons of sunflower oil to China, which is 10% more than in the previous season.
The EVT grain terminal in the specialized seaport “Olvia” reached 1 million tons, transshipped via the berth for export in the 2021-2022 marketing year.
State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine JSC lost UAH 1 billion (USD 37.4 million) due to the sale of grain at reduced prices.
In the new season, the crop of Australian wheat became the second largest in the history of the country.
After completing the shipments planned for July-August, the trading activity on the Ukrainian barley market dropped sharply.
In January-August 2021, 3.09 million tons of sunflower oil were exported from Ukraine, which is 34% less than the same period in 2020 (4.68 million tons).
