The Ukrainian icebreaker “Noosfera” reached the Antarctic station “Akademik Vernadskyi” – for the first time in the fourth Antarctic season.

On the evening of December 12, the icebreaker “Noosfera” set off from Cape Town (South Africa) for Antarctica.

Three years have passed since the icebreaker was renamed “Noosphere”. During this time, the ship spent three Antarctic seasons.

New projects of international cooperation are expected at the station “Akademik Vernadskyi” and the research vessel “Noosfera”.
