Tariffs slow down rapeseed exports from Ukraine: volumes in October are four times smaller than last year

Rapeseed exports in October may not exceed 140 thousand tons due to the effect of the export duty – instead of last year’s 535 thousand tons.
As of October 28, 125 thousand tons of rapeseed were exported from Ukraine. This is reported by analysts of the PUSK within the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council.
It is expected that by the end of the month this figure will reach only 135–140 thousand tons.
Experts note that the main barrier to trade has become the export duty, which actually blocks the normal work of traders. In contrast, the volume of domestic processing is growing: in September, enterprises processed over 100 thousand tons of rapeseed, and in October the figure will be similar.
Prices in ports are kept at the level of €540–545/t, while processors on the domestic market offer over 25 thousand UAH/t. At the same time, the European market is showing growth: rapeseed exchange quotes rose by €10 per week. The highest prices for the crop are traditionally expected in January-February.
As USM wrote the day before, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the bill on the adaptation of Ukrzaliznytsia to EU standards.
