Thai buyer refuses Ukrainian wheat consignment at tender

At the tender, a Thai buyer refused a batch of Ukrainian wheat that was to be delivered by a global grain trader.

This was told to Latifundist by the president of the Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA), Mykola Gorbachev.

According to him, Thailand refused to accept an international company with ABCD (ADM, Bunge, Cargill, Louis Dreyfus Company) in the tender, because it will load wheat at a Ukrainian port.

The Thai embassy in Ukraine responded to the UGA that traders are “very afraid” that they may not receive the grain on time, so they choose to refuse to participate in a potentially risky supply.

Gorbachev noted that the embassy’s official response states that Thailand as a state “does not see any problems”. At the same time, private buyers see risks in grain supplies from Ukrainian ports.

Also, according to the president of the UGA, similar signals are coming from Indonesia, which also plans to start excluding Ukrainian wheat from tenders.

Earlier, USM reported that the Polish minister had revealed which EU countries would like to receive grain from Ukraine.
