The administration of the Sulina Channel has reduced the tariff for ships

The administration of the Sulina channel has almost halved the canal fee.

As reported by USM, thus, in 2024, the tariffs for vessel passage through the canal will be equal to:

• one-way tariff for a ship in ballast — 0.40 USD;

• one-way tariff for a vessel with cargo — 0.89 USD;

• tariff in both directions: entry — in ballast, exit — with cargo — 1.29 USD;

• tariff in both directions: entry — with cargo, exit — with cargo — 1.78 USD (per registered ton, NRT).

It is worth noting that the only alternative to the Sulina channel — the Bystre estuary — remains with the previous tariffs.

Let us remind you that the Romanian Sulina estuary is the main navigable channel of the Danube estuary, which connects the Black Sea with the ports of Sulina, Izmail, Reni, Tulcea, etc.
