The Agrarian Committee did not support the introduction of duties on soybeans and rapeseed, — All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council

16 members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy voted against.

This was reported by the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council.

On Monday, July 7, during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Agrarian Committee, MPs did not support the initiative to introduce duties on soybean and rapeseed exports.

“16 members of the committee voted against, which indicates awareness of the risks for small and medium-sized agrarian businesses and support for their position,” the report says.

At the same time, the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, on the contrary, recommends introducing duties.

The Agrarian Council also emphasized that the introduction of duties will only deepen problems in the industry, reduce farmers’ incomes and reduce the competitiveness of Ukrainian products on world markets.

In particular, the Coincil called on parliamentarians not to create artificial obstacles to the development of the agricultural sector, the losses of which will amount to UAH 17 billion in the event of the introduction of duties.

Recall that in June, the Verkhovna Rada did not support the “oil amendments” on the introduction of 10% export duties on soybeans and rapeseed.

Later, it became known that the amendments on export duties on soybeans and rapeseed are planned to be finalized.
