The agreement to lease floating power plants from Karpowership has collapsed

The agreement with the Turkish Karpowership on the lease of floating power plants for this winter has collapsed.
Ukraine has spent about UAH 300 million on preparing the infrastructure for floating plants, Forbes writes.
We are talking about a plan to connect two Karpowership floating power plants with a capacity of 230 MW to the power system of the Odessa region.
It is known that the state-owned “Energy Company of Ukraine” was responsible for the implementation of the project.
Back in October last year, a Forbes Ukraine interlocutor in one of the large energy companies noted that there should be no delays.
Recall that in June 2024, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration spoke about plans to install three floating power plants with a capacity of 250 MW each in the ports of Pivdennyi, Odesa and Izmail. The Turkish company Karpowership was to become the provider of this service.
