The Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the damage in the port of Ust-Luga: a Russian icebreaker was also damaged

Ukrainian drones hit the Russian port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad region of the Russian Federation. In particular, an enemy icebreaker was damaged.
This was reported by the Special Operations Forces.
Thus, the Deep-strike units of the SSO, together with the Security Service, SBS, Defense Intelligence, SBGS and the Foreign Intelligence Service, hit the Baltic port in Ust-Luga.
In the port area, long-range drones of the SSO and others targeted the facilities of the gas giant Novatek, which is the largest Russian producer of liquefied gas. The company has been under EU and US sanctions since 2014.
The port is located almost 1,000 kilometers from the northern border of Ukraine. Russia continues to develop this port, which is to become the largest on the Baltic Sea and the second largest port in the entire country.
The Novatek fractionation and transshipment complex in the port of Ust-Luga, with a capacity of almost seven million tons per year, processes stable gas condensate into various oil products that Russia exports by sea, including through the shadow fleet.
The destruction of the enemy’s maritime and oil and gas infrastructure reduces its economic and logistical capabilities to wage war against Ukraine, as well as to circumvent international sanctions and replenish its budget.
At the same time, the General Staff also reported that during a joint operation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Leningrad Region on the night of March 25, a ship of the Russian invaders was hit at the Vyborg Shipyard.
According to preliminary information, this is the patrol icebreaker “Purga” of project 23550, which was planned for operations as part of the Border Guard Service of the Russian Federal Security Service. Such vessels perform the tasks of both an icebreaker and a warship.
As a reminder, on the night of March 25, drones attacked the Leningrad Region of the Russian Federation. As a result of the strikes, a fire broke out in the port of Ust-Luga.
