The Cabinet of Ministers approved a plan to implement sanctions against the captains of the Russian “shadow fleet”

The government approved a plan to organize the implementation of the NSDC decision to apply personal sanctions against the captains of the Russian “shadow fleet”.

This was reported by the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories.

The Ministry of Development was identified as one of the entities responsible for implementing this decision. The department recalled that it concerns 99 entities, including 94 individuals involved in circumventing the oil embargo and ensuring the supply of Russian oil products to third countries in circumvention of sanctions.

The sanctions list also includes 5 legal entities – residents of the Russian Federation.

“Offenses by persons involved in the illegal transportation of energy resources pose a threat not only to Ukraine, but also to all maritime states interested in maintaining law and order and stability on global logistics routes. This allows Russia to accumulate billions in oil and gas revenues every year, which make up more than a quarter of its budget and are directed to the war against Ukraine,” the ministry notes.

The government plan provides for comprehensive interdepartmental coordination to implement restrictions, monitor and terminate the operation of logistics schemes that work in favor of the aggressor state.

Earlier it became known that Ukraine is imposing sanctions against shipowners who steal Ukrainian grain.
