The Cabinet of Ministers proposes to exempt the import of rescue boats from customs duty


On Tuesday, October 18, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft law, which proposes to exempt the supply of rescue boats to Ukraine from customs payments.

The very project of the Law “On Amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine Regarding the Supply of Maritime Search and Rescue Vessels, Equipment and Equipment for Search and Rescue Operations at Sea in Accordance with International Treaties of Ukraine” is aimed at implementing Ukraine’s international treaties in the field of human life protection the sea .This was reported by the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.

The draft law will help to ensure the effectiveness of maritime search and rescue operations for the search and rescue of people who are in distress at sea. The draft law envisages the introduction of amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine with the aim of more effective use of the budget funds of the European Union, Melnychuk said.

In addition, it is proposed to exempt from customs payments the import of high-speed marine search and rescue vessels, ship equipment, ship spare parts, ship supplies, equipment and equipment of such vessels.
