The cargo ship hit near Novorossiysk was swept all the way to the shores of Turkey

After the attack near Novorossiysk, the 108-meter dry cargo ship drifted uncontrolled in the Black Sea and ran aground near Istanbul.

The Russian dry cargo ship “Omsky-107” was attacked near the port of Novorossiysk and was damaged, after which it was carried by the waves to the northern coast of Turkey, writes the Turkish news agency DHA.

The ship ran aground near Aladjali beach in the Şile district of Istanbul province.

“After the attack, the crew left the ship in lifeboats,” the report said.

Photos published by Turkish media show significant damage in the stern and a destroyed, burnt bridge of the vessel. Turkish services surrounded the area and began an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
