The Chornomorsk port concession has already attracted the interest of over 40 international companies, — the Ministry of Development

The Chornomorsk port terminal concession project has already attracted the interest of more than 40 international operators and investors.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba in an interview with Ukrinform.
According to him, this confirms that the port concession project is perceived as a strategically attractive asset with great development potential after the war.
Kuleba noted that potential investors are aware of the security situation in Ukraine and in Chornomorsk in particular, and immediately include this factor in their long-term decisions.
The minister said that the project involves hundreds of millions of dollars in investments in berths and equipment, as well as more than $ 1.1 billion in revenues to the state and local budgets during the project implementation period. In addition, the port will create more than a thousand jobs with clear social guarantees. According to Kuleba, within three years, Chornomorsk plans to restore container transportation to 250,000 containers per year, and then reach pre-war volumes.
Before the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukrainian ports operated with volumes of over a million TEU per year. According to World Bank estimates, in 2030-2032 Ukraine may return to pre-war figures, and by 2035 – reach 1.35-1.46 million containers. This growth will depend, first of all, on imports for the country’s recovery and the development of transit, in particular, the Trans-Caspian route Europe-China, where Ukraine can play a key role, the minister claims.
Earlier, USM reported that after the concession, employees of the Chornomorsk port will transfer to a new operator.
