The defenders of Zmiinyi Island were returned from captivity to Ukraine

Ukraine conducted one of the largest exchanges of prisoners — 207 military personnel returned home, including the defenders of Zmiinyi Island.
On Wednesday, January 31, an exchange of prisoners of war took place, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak said.
He clarified that among the returned military men are soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, border guards and policemen.
“There are many defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal. There are also defenders of Zmiinyi Island and soldiers who defended in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Kherson and Sumy directions,” the message reads.
As previously reported by USM, at the beginning of January, defender Zmiinyi, with whom there was no contact for two years, was released from captivity.
