The Defense Intelligence has exposed more than 50 vessels that contribute to the Russian aggression against Ukraine

The updated list includes tankers, as well as cargo ships that cooperate with the aggressor and enter closed ports in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.

The list of 51 ships was published by the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the “Sea vessels” section of the War&Sanctions portal.

The intelligence noted that, in particular, cargo ships carried out operations in the temporarily occupied ports of Mariupol and Kerch. To cover up its activities, the Russian Federation uses ships under the flags of third states, in particular those that officially support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

“Russia systematically uses maritime logistics not only for the export of energy resources, but also for the export of stolen Ukrainian resources – grain, ore, coal. At the same time, the aggressor state is trying to integrate the occupied territories into its own economic system, opening Ukrainian ports to foreign ships,” the report says.

The key link in this logistics remains the captains of the ships – they are the ones who have complete information about the origin and nature of the cargo, as well as the routes.

In particular, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense appealed to the crews of these sea vessels.

“Participation in illegal operations in Ukrainian ports means complicity in aggression. The responsibility of ship captains for participation in the occupation operations of the aggressor country is inevitable,” the intelligence officers noted.
