The demand prices of oil processing enterprises for sunflower have increased

In Ukraine, since the beginning of April, the demand prices of oil processing enterprises for sunflower seeds have increased.
The increase in prices was facilitated by the restraining of the sale of oil products by agricultural producers, who considered the established prices to be unprofitable and expected them to increase, analysts of “APK-Inform” note.
“Additionally, the increase in the price of sunflower oil in the export direction, as well as the demand prices of importers for sunflower seeds, also contributed to the increase in prices. However, the activity of receiving the supply of oil mills remained low, so oil mills mainly continued to work on previously formed reserves of raw materials. In addition, the further rise in sunflower prices restrained the low margin of oil production,” the analysts note.
During the specified period, sunflower prices rose by UAH 600-1,800/t and as of April 12, mostly amounted to UAH 14,300-16,100/t.
