The destruction of the ferry “Slavyanin” complicated the logistics of the invaders in Crimea, – the Navy

This is not the first time that the “Slavyanin” ferry has been damaged, and its removal from normal operation is a tangible loss for Russian logistics.
This was stated on the air of the telethon by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, writes Ukrinform.
The defeat of the heavy-lift ferry “Slavyanin” in the Kerch Strait significantly affects the logistics of the Russian troops, as it is a vessel capable of transporting railway cars. Because of this, the occupiers will probably rely even more on railway communication through the temporarily occupied territories of southern Ukraine.
“The minus is big, because these are large ferries with a large carrying capacity, transporting railway cars,” Pletenchuk noted.
The Navy believes that after this, the load on alternative supply routes will increase. First of all, we are talking about the railway that the Russians laid through the occupied territories of southern Ukraine.
“I think that there will now be a greater load on the railway that they laid through the occupied territories of southern Ukraine. Because they still need to supply,” the spokesman said.
According to Pletenchuk, the issue of logistics remains critical for the Russian troops, in particular due to the need to provide fuel to a significant aviation group. This creates additional pressure on all available supply routes.
Commenting on other possibilities of communication with Crimea, the Navy spokesman noted that the occupiers continue to use a combined bridge crossing in various formats – automobile and passenger. At the same time, there are restrictions on the transportation of heavy armored vehicles and fuel and lubricants due to damage and increased risks.
He clarified that this does not mean the complete impossibility of such transportation in the future, but the defeat of the “Slavyanin” already reduces the flexibility of Russian logistics in the Crimean direction.
Earlier it was reported that special forces of the Defense Intelligenceof the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine neutralized the last Russian railway ferry in the Kerch Strait.
