The EU has created a European Agriculture Council to support farmers

The new body will provide high-level advice for the development of Europe’s agricultural sector.
The European Commission has announced the creation of the European Board for Agriculture and Food (EBAF).
This advisory body will contribute to the development of a sustainable and competitive agri-food system in the European Union.
“The European Agri-Food Board aims to address the complexity of the agri-food value chain, supporting our farmers and contributing to a more resilient, competitive and sustainable agri-food system,” said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
The board will be chaired by European Commissioner Christoph Hansen. It will run for five years, holding two to six meetings per year. The board will be composed of 30 organisations representing farmers, food chain actors and civil society.
The first composition of the board will be announced in early 2025, and meetings are planned to start immediately after its formation. EBAF will also provide the European Commission with recommendations on agricultural policy and contribute to the development of the concept of the EU agri-food system.
Earlier, USM reported that the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine is developing a new export strategy for Ukraine.
