The European Association refuted fakes about grain from Ukraine
The European Grain Association made a statement refuting rumors about the alleged supply of low-quality agricultural products to the EU market.
False rumors about allegedly low-quality Ukrainian grain were denied by the European grain association Coceral. In particular, in some neighboring countries that have temporarily banned imports, fakes are being spread about grain contaminated with microtoxins or even contaminated with radiation. The statement and refutation were published on the website of the Ukrainian Grain Association.
“All shipments of any origin are screened and our members reject any shipments that could potentially have a negative impact on human and animal health. This rigorous process is part of the daily practice of the association’s traders,” the statement said.

As previously reported by USM, on May 2, 2023, the European Commission announced the introduction of temporary precautionary measures against the import of agricultural products from Ukraine to Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. Restrictions are valid until June 5.
Certificate. Coceral is a European trade association for grains, oilseeds, pulses, olive oil, fats and feed. The association was founded in 1958 after the signing of the Treaty of Rome, which led to the creation of the European Economic Community.
The association unites producers, traders, importers, exporters and operators of port terminals of the specified agricultural products of the countries of the European Union.
The Ukrainian Grain Association is the only specialized association from the countries of Eastern Europe that is represented in Coceral, although it is not a representative of an EU member state.
