The European Commission agreed on the 9th package of sanctions against russian federation

Yesterday, December 7, the European Commission agreed on a new package of sanctions against russia.

The new restrictions apply to the russian energy and mining industries. In addition, a new export control of dual-use goods was introduced, according to the website of the European Commission.

Thus, the EU will block russia’s access to drones, unmanned aerial vehicles and their engines.

Also, almost 200 individuals and legal entities were added to the sanctions list. This includes the russian armed forces, individual officers and defense industrial enterprises and government officials. In addition, sanctions were imposed on three more russian banks, along with a complete ban on transactions of the russian Regional Development Bank.

The EU also imposed sanctions against russian propaganda policies, taking four Roskanal and all other distribution platforms off the air.

This package is complemented by the EU’s complete ban on the import of russian marine oil, which entered into force on December 5. At the same time, the global oil price cap agreed by the G7 countries will affect the russian economy.
