The European Commission recognized the incidents at “Nord Streams” as sabotage
The European Commission confirmed that the damage to the Nord Streams in the Baltic Sea was caused by deliberate acts of sabotage.
“We have been informed by the Swedish authorities that the damage to the northern gas pipelines (Nord Streams -1 and 2) was caused by deliberate acts of sabotage. But the investigation is still ongoing – in Sweden, Denmark and Germany. This investigation belongs to the competence of the member states,” said the spokeswoman of the European Commission for Internal Affairs, Migration and Internal Security, Anita Hipper, during a briefing on January 5.
After the incidents immediately on both pipelines of the “Nord Streams”, the European Commission and the member states are taking legal, organizational and practical measures to strengthen the security of the critical infrastructure of the European Union.
As previously reported by USM, the amount of repair of the “Nord Streams” may reach million.
