The European Union is preparing the ninth package of sanctions against russian federation, — the media

The European Union is working on a new package of sanctions against russia — the ninth since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine.

“Work is already underway on a potential new package of EU sanctions against russia. It may include the confiscation of assets in russia, a ban on the sale of property, and other details that were considered in previous rounds,” Radio Svoboda’s Europe editor Rikard Yuzwiak said on Twitter.

According to him, Belarus may become the new object of European sanctions. It was completely excluded from the eighth EU sanctions package.

The issue of Belarus will definitely be on the agenda of the meeting of G7 leaders today, October 11, said the head of French diplomacy, Catherine Colonna. She warned that any additional support for Belarus in russia’s war in Ukraine would lead to additional sanctions.

We will remind you that on October 6, the Council of the EU approved a new package of economic and individual sanctions against russian federation. In particular, the new EU sanctions сoncern people and companies  from third countries that help Russia circumvent existing restrictions.
