The ex-head of the Chornomorsk Port customs post was arrested for taking a bribe

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation arrested the ex-head of the Chornomorsk Port customs post for bribery.

The former head of the customs post demanded and received an illegal benefit for the unhindered export of grain and the issuance of certificates. On January 8, the head of the “Servant of the People” faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Davyd Arahamia, announced this in Telegram.

“And this is at a time when our President, the leadership of the Office of the Head of State, the government and diplomats are working to build a “grain corridor”. Our military is guarding it, business is fighting for every dollar of export revenue, and here comes some scum who thinks he can organize a scheme for himself on this,” Arahamia wrote.

Earlier, USM reported that the customs officials of the Odesa-port and Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky posts were exposed for bribery . They set up a corrupt scheme to receive money from volunteers.

The chief inspector of the customs clearance department in Odesa demanded money from the representative of the charitable foundation. For $1,200, he promised to influence a colleague from another post so that he would not create obstacles during the registration of humanitarian cargo for Ukrainian defenders.
