The export of sunflower seeds decreased by more than half
Export volumes of Ukrainian sunflower seeds have fallen by 58% since the beginning of the year.
Since the beginning of 2023, the export of sunflower seeds from Ukraine has decreased by 58% compared to the corresponding period of 2022. This is due to the ban on the import of certain types of Ukrainian agricultural products to 5 neighboring countries, as well as the disruption of the Grain Agreement by Russia.
Constant Russian attacks on the port infrastructure of the Danube also create difficulties for exports.
At the same time, Ukrainian farmers significantly increased the amount of processing of these agricultural products within the country, Ukroliyaprom reported.
This led to an opportunity to export more sunflower oil and meal. Thus, the volumes of these agricultural products sent abroad increased by 25.4% and 27.3%, respectively.
