The first UDS grain caravan was loaded at the Nibulon terminal

One of the largest Ukrainian agricultural exporters used the fleet of the Danube Shipping Company for the first time.

The first UDS barge caravan left from the “Nibulon” terminal in Izmail to the Romanian port of Constanta. This was reported in the press service of the UDS.

9 thousand tons of grain products were loaded for export in the direction of Constanta.

The UDS emphasized that the Danube export route is a “strategic reserve” and “a matter of national economic security.” Keeping this reserve ready means loading the grain terminals and the fleet with work.

“The UDS and Nibulon project is evidence of the readiness of Ukrainian business to take care of national interests. However, our efforts alone are not enough. Support from the state is necessary,” the UDS commented.

The Danube Shipping Company also noted that not only Ukraine should be interested in the development of Danube logistics.

“That is why we are continuing to work with our Romanian partners regarding the cancellation of channel dues and pilotage services, the rate of port dues, the conditions of using the anchorage in the port of Constanţa,” the UDS writes. — If we minimize costs at all stages from the elevator to the sea vessel, the Danube route will increase its potential. But it will be capable of scaling, so that at any moment it can turn from a backup to a main one.”

Also, the day before, USM wrote that in September, an anchorage for Ukrainian grain will be opened in Constanta.
