The former Olimpex terminal in the port of Odesa is planned to be launched this fall

Lavanda Spectrum, which manages the former Olimpex terminal in the port of Odesa, plans to attract cargo through cooperation with farmers and agricultural holdings.

This was stated by John Patton, a partner at the Argentem Creek Partners investment fund, in an interview with LIGA.net.

According to him, the previous owners used the Olimpex terminal to export “gray grain”, avoiding taxes and rent payments. Currently, the asset is managed by Lavanda Spectrum.

“It will consolidate assets, conduct an audit, invest in repairs, pay taxes and provide jobs. The company will focus on increasing efficiency and increasing sales, using Karl Sturen’s experience in the agricultural sector,” Patton noted.

The resumption of operations at the terminal is expected in the fall of 2025. However, the process, according to him, may be delayed.

“We really hope for this. However, the process may be delayed due to the volume of work after the withdrawal of assets by Groza, Naumenko and the associated Sunolta. The schedule is updated weekly,” said the Argentem Creek partner.

Despite the excess capacity of Ukrainian ports, the company plans to attract cargo through cooperation with farmers and agricultural holdings. Patton noted that Lavanda Spectrum’s task is to find the optimal business profile for profitability, regardless of whether it is export, import or transit.

Recall that in early August 2025, American investors finally took control of the grain terminal in Odesa.

Previously, a protracted conflict was going on between GNT and its creditors ACP and Innovatus Capital Partners, which was accompanied by accusations of fraud worth tens of millions of dollars and the arrest of Naumenko in May 2025. The Supreme Court of Ukraine finally approved the transfer of the terminal to new owners.
