The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company drove one of the most powerful floating cranes on the Danube from Odesa to Kilia— SPK-1/35.

The SPK-1/35 floating crane has a length of almost 40 m, a displacement of 1,224 tons, and a load capacity of 35 tons, the UDS reported.

Five years ago, the UDS management gave the crane to a private Odesa company. The lease expired last year.

As the UDS said, no one believed that under today’s circumstances, a floating crane of this size could really be diverted to Izmail, and no one undertook to do it.

The company itself found an option to run the crane, so the transportation took place.

After the repair, the super crane will start working at the new multi-functional terminal of UDS in Izmail.

Previously, USM reported that the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company opened procurement for the transportation of agricultural products by barges from the ports of Reni and Izmail.

The first auctions will be held on June 29. According to the tenders, grain is planned to be transported from the ports of Reni or Izmail to the ports of Constanta (Romania) or the Bulgarian ports of Ruse and Silistra.
