The grain procurement scheme for Grain from Ukraine is proposed to be changed

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy proposes to change the procurement scheme of agricultural products for the Grain from Ukraine program.

The purchase of grain with a 50% subscription will allow farmers to understand that they will not be working at a loss, said the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi.

The new procurement scheme for Grain from Ukraine was discussed at a meeting with representatives of the United Nations Department of Logistics and Public Procurement (WFP).

“Mykola Solskyi voiced the idea, as part of the implementation of Grain from Ukraine, to purchase grain according to the following scheme: 50% of the advance payment in the spring – for the purchase of grain, and the second half – in the fall already after the harvest and at the market price,” the ministry said in a statement.

The representative of the UN noted that they are ready to join in solving the logistical problems of the export of Ukrainian agricultural products and offered to gather the major players of the world market to try to jointly find a way out.
