During a working visit to the Odesa region, the Acting Head of the Shipping Administration held meetings with port captains, as well as heads of the MTP.

In particular, they discussed the interim results of the “Safety Month”, the Shipping Administration reports.

Acting Head of the Shipping Administration Mykola Kravchuk also visited the National University “Odesa Maritime Academy” at the invitation of the rector.

“During the visit, Mykola Kravchuk got acquainted with the educational and material base of the academy, after which an expanded working meeting was held with the university management and heads of departments responsible for the training of seafarers’ command personnel,” the report says.

The meeting discussed the issues of practical training, certification and certification of seafarers, compliance with international standards and ways to improve the national system of training of ship command personnel.

Recall that since the beginning of May, the Shipping Administration has been conducting the “Safety Month“. Inspectors check the condition of vessels and also take measures to improve the level of safety in maritime and inland waterway transport.
