The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry spoke with the Russian Foreign Ministry about the Grain Agreement


Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the Black Sea Grain Initiative with Lavrov during a telephone conversation.

“During the conversation, the latest events surrounding Ukraine and the Istanbul Grain Agreement were discussed,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry reports. In turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia stated that it does not consider it possible to continue the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The conversation took place after the visit of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Istanbul, writes European Truth. During the meeting, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he wants to extend the agreement on the safe transit of Ukrainian grain for three months instead of two.
