The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine allowed ARMA to appeal the ban on the sale of Medvedchuk’s assets in the Supreme Court
The High Anti-Corruption Court allowed ARMA to appeal the ban on the sale of Medvedchuk’s assets in the Supreme Court.
This was stated by ARMA Chair Olena Duma, who personally participated in the court session of the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court on the unblocking of the sale of Medvedchuk’s assets.
The AP of the High Anti-Corruption Court listened to all parties in detail, and the judges asked a number of questions to representatives of the Ministry of Justice.
The court did not receive a clear answer from representatives of the Ministry of Justice, so it announced the operative part of the decision, granting the right to appeal and further consideration of the case in the Supreme Court.
Priviously, ARMA Chair Olena Duma stated that the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court regarding Medvedchuk’s assets could create a dangerous precedent for other sanctioned persons.
The decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Justice, which the agency appealed, refers to “taking measures to secure the claim, which consists in terminating the auction, bidding or competitive procedures conducted on behalf of the state.”
Therefore, the decision to ban the sale of Medvedchuk’s assets will affect not only the activities of ARMA, but also the application of sanctions in the EU.
Also, earlier, ARMA complained that the High Anti-Corruption Court of Justice had adopted a decision prohibiting the sale of seized property related to Viktor Medvedchuk. At the same time, the head of ARMA Olena Duma asked whether the same fate awaits Medvedchuk’s seized yacht Royal Romance, the sale of which will bring billions to the budget.
ARMA emphasized that they even received an official response from the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding the reasons for the impossibility of signing the acceptance and transfer acts. In particular, the letter of the UCP refers to the resonant decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court to ban the sale of Medvedchuk’s property.
USM previously reported that the High Anti-Corruption Court has not yet approved the sale of Medvedchuk’s assets, which may affect the sale of the Royal Romance yacht.
