The Houthis attacked the Ukrainian ship with cruise missiles

On Thursday, June 13, the Yemeni Houthis fired two missiles into the Gulf of Aden at the Ukrainian ship Verbena.

This was reported by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces.

“The Iran-backed Houthis launched two anti-ship cruise missiles in the Gulf of Aden. Both got into the Ukrainian bulk carrier Verbena, which was operated by a Polish carrier under the flag of Palau,” the message reads.

Verbena crew reported damage and fire on board.

One sailor was injured. He was evacuated on an aircraft that arrived from the American cruiser USS Philippine Sea. The wounded man was given medical assistance on the warship of the partners, which was located nearby.

As previously reported by USM, recently the Houthis twice attacked a bulk carrier that was on its way from Russia. The ship sank.
