The hydrographic vessel “Captain Cheremnykh” will operate in the ports of Great Odesa after repair

After a scheduled repair, the hydrographic vessel “Captain Cheremnykh” was launched. The vessel also successfully passed mooring and sea trials.
During the repair work, the vessel underwent comprehensive maintenance, restoring the operability of the hull, mechanisms and systems, and also updated its appearance, the State Enterprise “State Hydrographic Service”reports.
“The vessel, modernized in 2016 by the Kyiv Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant, is not inferior to foreign ones in terms of its technical capabilities. “Captain Cheremnykh” has its own feature – a reinforced hull, which allows the personnel to work in bad weather, in conditions of thin ice up to 0.4 m thick,” the report says.
In particular, the compact dimensions of the vessel (length 21.63 m and width 6.88 m) add maneuverability to the “Captain Cheremnykh” and serve as an advantage for performing work in port waters and on the approach channels of ports.
After successful mooring and sea trials, the vessel is ready for further operation in the ports of Greater Odessa. It is planned that it will perform hydrographic, surveying work, service coastal and island hydrographic objects and install navigation equipment.
It should be noted that the amount of repair of the “Captain Cheremnykh”, according to the public procurement website Prozorro, amounted to about 8 million UAH.
