The invaders ordered to raise the dredger “Meotida” from the water area of Mariupol

The Russian invaders plan to raise the sunken dredger “Meotida” from the water area of the port of Mariupol within a year.

The “Meotida” dredger, sunk at the entrance to the “New Gate” of the Mariupol port, is planned to be raised by November 11, 2024, reports rosZMI with reference to the order of “acting captain of the sea port”.

The occupiers hope that the removal of the vessel will ensure the safe passage of vessels through the approach channel of Coal Harbor.

According to the document, the Russians ordered the ship owner – Delta-Lotsman branch of SE “Sea Ports Administration of Ukraine” – to develop documentation for the removal of the ship by November 11, 2023 and to raise it within a year.

The occupiers complain that the sunken Ukrainian dredger makes it difficult for them to “build, reconstruct, repair and operate hydraulic structures, underwater cables, and underwater pipelines.”
