The invaders want to export up to 12 million tons of stolen resources from the port of Mariupol every year

The Kremlin plans to modernize the Mariupol port to export up to 12 million tons of stolen cargo per year, including metal, coal and grain.
In temporarily occupied Mariupol, the Russians are preparing to increase the port’s capacity to export up to 12 million tons of stolen cargo, including metal, coal and grain. This was reported by the press service of the Mariupol City Council.
“The leader of the so-called “DPR” Pushilin announced plans to bring the Mariupol seaport to full capacity in the coming years. The occupiers hope to export about 12 million tons per year of metal, coal, grain. Everything that the invaders can steal in the occupied territories,” the report says.
Earlier, the invaders announced their intention to build 25 new hydraulic structures, including 18 berths. This is aimed at increasing the turnover of stolen cargo, the city council explained.
In addition, the occupiers are already actively using the port to export cargo. For example, from January 12 to 17, 2025, three sea bulk carriers with kaolin and coal, which were delivered from the Luhansk region, were sent through the Mariupol port.
The day before, the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, stated that the Russian Federation continues to illegally export Ukrainian resources through the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk.
