The Khadzhibey dam is planned to be modified: what is known

As part of the project to hold the international exhibition EXPO in Odesa, preparations are underway to completely redo the lock of the Khadzhibey dam.
On Tuesday, March 28, the layout of the EXPO 2030 pavilions was presented in Odesa during a briefing at Ukraine Media Center Odesa. As part of the project, they are preparing to modify the Khadzhibey Dam.
“The second issue that worries everyone is the Khadzhibe dam. On the layout, you can see that the central pavilion is located on the embankment. It is planned to completely modify it, in particular, the sluice that holds the water will be completely rebuilt. Submersible pumps will also be reworked and replaced. All this will be able to solve the environmental problem of our region and city,” said Yevgeny Levyenberg, chairman of the EXPO 2030 Odesa Public Council.
As previously reported by USM, in 2021 the Odesa regional state administration was ready to allocate 42 million hryvnias to prevent the Khadzhibey estuary dam from bursting.
