The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is suing the shipyard for the unbuilt frigates
The Russian Ministry of Defense is trying in vain to collect compensation of 47.208 million dollars from “Severnaya Verf” for 3 unbuilt ships.
A Russian court refused military officials to collect $47.208 million from the “Severnaya Verf” Shipyard. The conflict between the departments of the invaders arose against the background of the fact that the shipyard did not have time to build 3 frigates of project 22350 “Admiral Gorshkov”.
Initially, the Ministry of Defense went to arbitration with a claim to recover $2.705 million, but later the “desired amount” increased to $47.208 million.
According to the state contract, Severnaya Verf should have handed over one of the ships worth $319 million to the Ministry of Defense by October 25, 2022. However, the order was not fulfilled due to “lack of funding”.
Previously, USM wrote that the Russians wanted to build 8 ships of project 22350. Of them, 5 frigates are still at “Severnaya Verf” at various stages of construction.
