The Ministry of Defense published the number of victims as a result of the blowing up of the Kakhovska HPP by the Russians
At least 32 people were killed and another 39 people went missing as a result of the Russians blowing up the Kakhovska HPP in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
After the invaders blew up the Kakhovska HPP on the night of June 6, it was possible to confirm the death of 32 people. Another 39 people are considered missing, said Vladyslav Dudar, an officer of the Main Department of Mine Action of Civil Defense and Environmental Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, “Ukrinform” reports.
The difficulty in calculating the exact number of victims is that more than 68% of the flooded territories are occupied, and how many people died there is unknown.
A total of 612 square km of territory were flooded by the rashists. In particular, as a result of the terrorist attack, almost 65% of all forests in the Kherson Region were underwater. Emergency services evacuated 2,783 people. The sappers have also completed the work on cleaning the flooded areas from explosive objects, Dudar said.
According to the data of the state space agency, after the destruction of the Kakhovska HPP, the reservoir lost about 72% of its water, noted the first deputy head of the State Environmental Inspection of Ukraine, Dmytro Zaruba.
