The Ministry of Development and Trade proposes to resume the transshipment of complex fertilizers in the ports of Ukraine

Control over compliance with safety measures can be carried out by the Navy Command together with local authorities and relevant services.
The Ministry of Development and Trade advocates the restoration of the possibility of transshipment of complex mineral fertilizers in domestic ports. Deputy Minister Andriy Kashuba reported this in a comment to Economic Truth.
According to him, a joint order of the Navy Command and the Odesa Regional Military Administration is currently in effect, which prohibits the transshipment and storage of explosive substances, in particular ammonia, nitrate and ammonia fertilizers. At the same time, complex fertilizers that do not belong to dangerous goods have also been restricted.
“We proposed to localize the transshipment of such fertilizers in state stevedoring companies located away from densely populated areas. Additionally, to carry out work only during the day and without the accumulation of cargo in ports,” Kashuba noted.
The ministry emphasized that the uninterrupted operation of ports is critically important for the stability of the agricultural sector and the economy as a whole.
Recall that business associations and freight forwarders called on the authorities to reconsider the ban, emphasizing that Ukrainian Danube ports could ensure the safe transshipment of such cargoes. Earlier, the USPA told what measures are being taken against the background of restrictions on the transshipment of saltpeter in ports.
