The Ministry of Development and Trade, Ukrsudprom and the Maritime Cluster of Ukraine signed a memorandum

The document refers to cooperation aimed, in particular, at the development of shipbuilding.

This was reported by the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

On Tuesday, March 31, the Ministry of Development, Ukrsudprom and the Maritime Cluster of Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation for the development of shipbuilding, maritime and river transport, ports and related high-tech industries.

The main areas of cooperation:

• development of scientific research;

• exchange of knowledge and practical experience;

• introduction of innovations in shipbuilding, energy and IT;

• attraction of international investments in cooperation between the state, business and science.

Deputy Minister Andriy Kashuba noted that shipbuilding is a strategic industry for the economy and, together with a developed port sector, is an important criterion for national security and economic independence.

“Ukraine has always had a strong and developed shipbuilding industry. The signed memorandum creates the basis for systematic cooperation between the state and the expert community, attracting investments and implementing modern technologies in accordance with European and global approaches,” Kashuba emphasized.

The parties also agreed that joint projects should comply with international approaches to sustainable development, climate neutrality, digital transformation, the principles of the “blue economy” and strengthen the maritime security of Ukraine.

As previously reported by USM, Ukraine and Lithuania discussed cooperation in the restoration and development of seaports.
