The Ministry of Economy named three key sectors of Ukrainian exports

The agricultural sector, metallurgy, and the defense industry will become the main drivers of Ukraine’s exports in the near future.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka named three key industries that will determine the dynamics of Ukrainian exports in a comment to Ukrinform.
“The foundation in the pyramid of growth of Ukrainian exports will certainly be agricultural products, because they best preserved their dynamics during the war. Metallurgy will also be restored. There are many security issues there, but it was very actively restored last year,” Kachka noted.
In addition, he emphasized the rapid development of the defense industry, which is not only increasing its own volumes, but also stimulating related production.
“The defense industry is not only a classic military-industrial complex, but also a number of related manufacturers, which are also part of the industrial sector. I think this direction will become a place where new large exporters of industrial products integrated with the European Union will emerge,” the trade representative emphasized.
Speaking about foreign trade with the EU, Kachka noted that the main challenges are not so much customs tariffs as issues of certification and laboratory testing of products.
Regarding the geographical structure of exports, he noted that the largest markets for Ukrainian goods remain the countries of the European Union, wider Europe, the Mediterranean, the Middle East and North Africa.
“Even taking into account the growing role of China and Southeast Asia, three quarters, and perhaps more, of our exports are focused on these regions,” Kachka added.
At the same time, the day before, USM reported that the average price of Ukrainian exports has been decreasing for three years in a row.
