The Navy commented on the suspension of fuel exports at the Russian port of Tuapse

The Ukrainian Navy confirmed information about the suspension of fuel exports in the Russian port of Tuapse due to a drone attack on the night of November 2.

This was stated by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, on the air of the “We are Ukraine” TV channel.

According to him, the attack, which resulted in the suspension of fuel exports in the port of Tuapse, affects not only the image of the country and the ability to secure the contracts they have, but also budget financing due to the fact that the lion’s share of the Russian budget is oil sales.

“In fact, the Black Sea ports are important for the Russians. And they accounted for a large share of the volume of tanker oil exports. Until the Russians officially classified this data, last year it was about 16-20% of the total export of bulk oil,” Dmitry Pletenchuk noted.

Satellites also recorded an oil spill over three kilometers long off the coast of Tuapse, a characteristic trail is visible in the Black Sea in images from November 2. Local authorities deny the spill.

Recall that the Rosneft oil refinery in Tuapse has completely stopped oil processing. The plant in Tuapse is one of the key oil refineries in Russia, with a daily capacity of up to 240 thousand barrels of oil. The enterprise is export-oriented and produces petroleum gas, fuel oil, vacuum gas oil and diesel with a high sulfur content. The main sales markets are China, Malaysia, Singapore and Turkey.

Earlier, USM reported that on the night of November 2, ships and terminal facilities caught fire in the Russian port of Tuapse as a result of an attack by unknown drones.
