The Netherlands granted permits for activities to vessels of russian federation dispite the sanctions

The government of the Netherlands has issued almost a hundred special permits for exemption from sanctions imposed by the EU against russia. Among them are permits for the activities of russian ships.

Exemption from sanctions in the Netherlands is guaranteed, in particular, by the ministries of foreign affairs, economy, finance, infrastructure and education, reports RTL News.

Since April, a ban has been in effect in the EU for vessels flying the russian flag to call European ports. However, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management has allowed vessels with a certain cargo to be launched.

Thus, the Netherlands granted permits to 34 russian vessels that transported, in particular, aluminum and food.

In addition, 25 Dutch organizations received permits to receive energy resources from russian federation. The Ministry of Foreign Trade granted 18 permits to 13 different organizations on humanitarian grounds. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands issued permission to the company to receive payment from russian federation. Also, the Dutch Ministry of Finance made 13 exceptions regarding frozen assets and goods subject to EU sanctions.

It should be noted that the ministries do not want to publish the names of the companies, because it “relates to confidential information.”
