The Netherlands may allocate 400 million euros to strengthen Ukraine’s maritime security

The aid package includes, in particular, ships and naval drones.
During a visit to Odesa on October 12, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans discussed the implementation of a 400 million euro aid package with the command of the Ukrainian Navy. He reported this on the social network X.
The funding is aimed at strengthening maritime security and defense of the Black Sea. The package includes the supply of ships and naval drones that will enhance the capabilities of the Ukrainian Navy to counter landing and missile threats from the sea.
The minister emphasized that the Dutch assistance is key to ensuring freedom of navigation in the Black Sea and strengthening Ukraine’s defense potential in maritime directions.
Support for maritime security is part of a broader military assistance program announced by The Hague as part of a multi-year support plan for Ukraine.
As USM wrote, the Verkhovna Rada recently approved the sending of Navy ships to other countries.
