The number of wagons has significantly increased in the direction of the ports of Great Odesa
Currently, almost 1,000 grain wagons more than a week ago — 6,662 units — are heading to seaports.
The data was shared by Valery Tkachov, deputy director of the commercial work department of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, writes Rail.insider.
“An increase in the number of wagons with grain moving in the direction of the ports of Great Odesa, from 5746 to 6662 wagons, is recorded. During the week, the volume of daily unloading of wagons with grain in the ports of Greater Odessa fluctuates in the range of 900–1050 wagons per day. The average daily figure is 923 cars per day. Over the last week, it increased by 18 units,” said Tkachev.
The queue of wagons with grain in the direction of the port of Izmail increased by three units — from 283 to 286 wagons. At the same time, the unloading rate decreased by two units — to 49 wagons per day.
“Difficulties remain in bringing cargo to the ports of Great Odesa and removing empty wagons due to infrastructure restrictions (limited capacity of the Podilsk-Rozdilna-Odesa-Zastava section) and a general increase in cargo flow in the direction of the ports of Great Odesa (agricultural cargo, MMC cargo and others move at the same time) . Therefore, the total processing capacity of port stations has been adjusted according to the carrying capacity of the network on the Podilsk-Rozdilna section,” noted Valery Tkachev.
