The oligarch Medvedchuk’s yacht will be sold at auction
The oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk’s yacht, which was arrested in Croatia this year, will be sold at auction.
Funds received from the sale of the ship will be transferred to Ukraine, The Guardian reports.
The cost of the 92.5-meter Royal Romance yacht is about 200 million dollars. It is noted that the auction for its sale will be the first such event in favor of Ukraine, held since the introduction of sanctions against russian oligarchs after the February invasion of russian federation.
We will remind, last week Medvedchuk’s yacht in Croatia was searched by the FBI agents
Viktor Medvedchuk, an oligarch and People’s Deputy from the opposition party, was extradited by the russians in September along with 55 russian military personnel, in exchange for more than 200 Ukrainian defenders and 10 foreigners who fought on the side of the Armed Forces.
Earlier, Medvedchuk was charged with part 1 of article 111 (treason), part 1 of article 258-3 (supporting a terrorist organization) and part 1 of article 438 (looting national values) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The oligarch appears in criminal cases related to the extraction of oil and gas in the Black Sea, as well as facilitating the activities of a terrorist organization through the supply of coal from the occupied territories of eastern Ukraine.
