The ore of the russian oligarch was arrested in several ports of Ukraine was handed over to ARMA
166,000 tons of iron ore with an estimated value of ₴1.8 billion, previously seized in several seaports of Ukraine, were handed over to ARMA.
The ore is owned by a foreign company, the Prosecutor General’s Office said. According to the investigation, during 2021-2022, a non-resident legal entity registered in a country of the European Union, together with companies of russian federation affiliated with a russian oligarch, declared the transfer of iron ore for a total amount of more than ₴ through the territory of Ukraine to Asian countries in the customs regime “transit” 1.3 billion.
In order to evade the payment of taxes and other mandatory payments, which are paid during the import of goods to the territory of Ukraine, the company’s officials used the mechanism of the so-called “interrupted transit”.
“Actually, they did not aim to export the ore outside of Ukraine. In fact, the company’s officials shipped the goods to business entities – residents of Ukraine, without paying customs payments,” the message reads.
In this way, more than UAH 118 million in damages were caused to the state.
