The Polish government will “strictly oppose” the influx of grain from Ukraine

The Polish government fears that due to the termination of the Grain Agreement, Ukrainian grain will take over the Polish market.

Poland will “protect local farmers” from the influx of Ukrainian grain. This was announced by the Prime Minister of the country, Mateusz Moravetskyi. The reason for the strict restrictions is a large surplus of Polish grain that needs to be sold.

At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that it is necessary to develop the infrastructure for the transit of Ukrainian grain. Currently, this issue is being actively discussed among Western partners.

“Poland will help the EU to solve this global problem caused by Russia’s attempt to cause famine,” the politician added.

We would like to remind you that the period of restrictions on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine to the countries of Eastern Europe ends on September 15. However, Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Initiative increased the concern of European countries regarding the influx of Ukrainian grain. Currently, EU countries are developing alternative ways to export from Ukraine in order to reduce the burden on the agro-industrial market of Eastern European countries.
